I need help! Here's the situation:

The kids love DDR-- that's Dance Dance Revolution for those of you not in the know-- and I want to get them the whole schlemiel. I got them a wannabe dance game before and they love it and play it all of the time, so I thought I'd just go for it and get them a console, pad and game set up for Christmas. Now my questions are these..

Which is better? XBox or PS2?
And should I get new or used?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hmm, i can only comment on PS2. Personally, i'd go with new if they're interest has been strong for a while and is continuing.
Now, one thing i have noticed, even though ours is PS2 and my girl seems happy with it, i 've noticed that XBox has just that tiny bit more on offer, in other words more variety of what my girl enjoys.
Decisions decisions....just one more headache!

Well i'm a Nintendo guy. But I do show respect for the other two.
Though Mario does have a dancing game too.

But you want to choose between Xbox and PS2. To be honest I go with a Used PS2. Though it wont last long. But it will be cheap. Next year the next round of consoles are coming.
X360 should be out soon though.

PS2 hands down. Xbox has much better graphics, but it still ain't got shit on the PS2's game library and game play ability. Plus, it's backwards compatible and can play DVDs without the extra cost of a $50 adaptor.

Yuna and Rikku and all the Final Fantasy starlets are only available on PS2.
